Preserve your special event forever! We’ll take your old VHS tapes and convert them into a digital format you can share with your family and friends.
We can even re-edit the bits you don’t want to see again!
VHS tapes normally have a lifespan of around 40 years if well-stored, which means that there’s probably only a few years left to convert them. Old tapes are prone to mould and degradation. VHS cassette conversion is essential if you don’t want to lose those old memories.
So – if you:
- threw out your old VCR when you bought a DVD player;
- threw out your DVD player when you got Blu-Ray;
- threw out your old technology when you got a Smart TV
– don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. We have all the (old) technology!
The VHS conversion process
- Bring your tapes to us
- We will re-tension the tape to make sure it spools correctly – particularly important for tapes that have been in storage.
- Your tape is played into a hard drive recorder, creating a perfect record of the recording as it stands on the tape. Please note that any picture and sound faults inherent on the old recording will be transferred at this stage.
- We create a digital recording and supply it to you as an MP4 file. It can also be uploaded to a private Youtube link if you prefer.
- If you’re happy, then great. If any additional work is needed – sound restoration, picture restoration and cleanup etc – we’ll be pleased to quote for any additional work needed.
Starts at £25 per tape for basic VHS to digital conversion.
