How we created a core brand video for a leading hairdressing products supplier
We were approached by MIX Hair Ltd, who have been supplying hairdressing products to barbers and salons for decades.
The business was strongly built on the personality of its owner, who had spent 30 years building up a business around the South-East selling direct to salons in person as well as by mail-order and advertising in the trade press.
Covid had changed his whole business model, and things had to change fast. He needed a way to explain concisely to his audience what kind of services he could offer his clients. This began with the launch of a Youtube channel to start targeting a new marketplace who once dealt face-to-face, but over lockdown, had taken to ordering online.
This video uses jaunty music (the client’s choice) with abstract images taken from his catalogue which remain onscreen only briefly. Timing the shots around the music helps create a sense of engagement – nothing is onscreen long enough for the audience to get bored. It’s designed to be playful and eye-catching from the outset, and it was well-received by the client base.
We even re-edited the original music down from its original two-and-a-half minutes to fit the video’s one-minute time constraint.
